Victoria Szabo

Victoria Szab’s work focuses on visual studies and new media, in theory and in practice, with a special interest in spatial media and the new forms of authorship and argument made possible with databases and hypermediated online environments. Her current projects are focused on developing mixed reality experiences in digital cities – Durham, NC, USA and Venice, Italy. She is a core member of the Wired Lab, and is also currently the co-director of the Franklin Humanities Institute GreaterThanGames Lab. She is also the Program Director for Information Science + Information Studies at Duke, and part of the Visual Studies Initiative executive committee. She teaches courses in digital media development and media history and culture for Art, Art History & Visual Studies, ISIS, and the MFA program in Experimental and Documentary Arts.
