Guido Zucconi is a full professor of History of Architecture at the Università Iuav di Venezia and member of the VV Steering Committee. His primary field of interest is architecture, urban history, and conservation focusing, in particular, on the period between the 19th and 20th centuries in Italy, with emphasis on the relationships between architecture and urban planning, heritage preservation strategies, and job-training education. His books and essays include La città dell’Ottocento (2001), La grande Venezia. Una metropoli incompiuta tra Otto e Novecento (2002), Una città cosmopolita. Il fronte mare di Fiume nell’età dualistica (2009), andOfficina Iuav, 1925-1980, Saggi sulla scuola di architettura di Venezia (2011).
Zucconi has served as President of the Associazione Italiana di Storia Urbana (AISU) since February 2009. He is a member of PhD college board in Theory and History of Arts of Venice and the Conseil scientifique of the Erasmus Mundus program TPTI, headed by the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne Paris IV and funded by the European Union.
