Chiara Di Stefano is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Università Iuav di Venezia where she is working on the history of the Venice Biennale. She contributes to several Italian magazines as an art critic, teaches history of contemporary art at IED-Venice (Istituto Europeo di Design), and collaborates on Francesca Castellani’s course on the history of contemporary art at the Iuav. Di Stefano graduated from the Università degli Studi RomaTre in Art History with honors in 2006 and from Università Iuav di Venezia in Art History and Contemporary Visual Arts with honors in 2010. She earned a Ph.D. in Art History in 2013 from the Iuav.
Much of her research is focused on politics and on paintings at the Venice Biennale. She is also interested in new technologies as an educational tool. She is a member of Visualizing Venice’s Biennale research team, to which she has contributed a study focused on Impressionism at the Venice Biennale during the Fascist period.
