Cristiano Guarneri is research fellow in architectural history at the Università Iuav di Venezia. He has been a teaching assistant at the University of Brescia since 2005 and, from 2007 to 2008, was a research fellow at the Archivio del Moderno, Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio. In 2008 he was awarded a fellowship as a chercheur débutant of the Swiss National Science Foundation. Guarneri graduated from the Università Iuav di Venezia and earned a Ph.D. in History of Architecture and City from the School for Advanced Studies in Venice Foundation in 2010. He has been a researcher in Visualizing Venice since 2012. His research for the Biennale project focuses on the urban transformations of the Insula di San Giuseppe (Giardini della Biennale) from 1500 to the present.
