Elisa Bastianello is grant researcher at Università Iuav di Venezia where she has worked as a lecturer and collaborated with the Centro Studi ClassicA since its foundation. Bastianello graduated from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (now Università Iuav di Venezia) with honors in History and Preservation of Environment and Architectural Heritage. She holds a Ph.D. in History of Architecture and Urban Planning from the Iuav and a degree from the School of Archival, Paleographic and Diplomatic Studies of the State Archives of Venice.

Her work in Visualizing Venice deals with the origin and development of Jewish communities in the Veneto though the study and mapping of documents.
