Francesca Castellani

Università Iuav di Venezia Francesca Castellani is an associate professor of History of Contemporary Art at the Università Iuav di Venezia. She has curated several exhibitions and edited numerous books on 19th- and 20th-century art in Italy and France, focusing, in particular, on Impressionism (Manet, Degas, De Nittis, Zandomeneghi). Her research interests include, among others, the history of the Venice Biennale, art and literature, and Orientalism.

Castellani serves on the college board of the Scuola doctorale inter-ateneo Cà Foscari-Iuav. She is a journalist and an art critic.
