Ines Tolic is an assistant professor of History of Architecture at the Università di Bologna. Her doctoral dissertation, dealing with the reconstruction of Skopje after the earthquake of 1963, won the Gubbio Prize and was published in 2011. She has also written about postwar architecture and urban design in Japan (2008/2009) and contemporary architecture in South Africa (2010). Since 2010, she has collaborated with the international research project Unfinished modernisations. Architecture and urban planning in former Yugoslavia and its successor states (curators V. Kulić and M. Mrduljaš), sponsored within the EU Culture 2007–2013 program.

Tolic graduated in Architecture from the Università Iuav di Venezia in 2004 and received a Ph.D. in the History of Architecture and Urban History from the School of Advanced Studies in Venice Foundation in 2009.

She is a researcher for Visualizing Venice.
