Chiara Di Stefano

Chiara Di Stefano has gained a PhD in Theories and History of Arts at the Università Iuav di Venezia in 2013. Her fields of interest are the history of Venice Biennale, 20th-century American art, and new technologies for educational programs in contemporary museums. Her PhD dissertation focuses on the US exhibition strategy at the Venice Biennale during the Cold War and Italian critics’ understanding of American art phenomena.
Di Stefano contributes to several Italian magazines as an art critic. She also teaches history of contemporary art at IED-Venice (Istituto Europeo di Design) and collaborates on Francesca Castellani’s course on the history of contemporary art at the Iuav.
